Organic cotton
The production of organic cotton, along with other organic agriculture, promotes biodiversity, and enhances soil biological cycles. Organic farming is good for the earth because it is based upon practices that maintain and improve upon the ecological balance of the land.
When a cotton product is labeled as “Organic Cotton” it is a claim that means a set of stringent standards were followed and met in the product's harvesting, production, and finishing process. State government officials and/or non-governmental third part organizations are involved in ensuring that products are produced in accordance with these stringent standards.

Doctor’s prescription for wool free mattresses
Because pure wool is a natural fire retardant, using pure wool in mattresses assists in meeting federal fire safety standards without the use of formaldehyde. However, as some people are allergic to wool, we also offer adult and baby mattresses made without wool. To purchase a wool-free, formaldehyde-free mattress from The EverGreen Home™ you must have a prescription from your physician.

Innerspring/box spring foundations
Innerspring foundations (box springs) should only be used to support innerspring mattresses. They should never be used with a non-innerspring mattress or a latex mattress because the sleeping surface would be very unstable (the wood or slat frame foundation provides the rigidity needed by the non-innerspring (latex) mattresses.

Innerspring mattress vs. non-innerspring mattress
An Innerspring mattress gets much of its structure from the coils within it. The denser the coils, the firmer the mattress. A latex (non-innerspring) mattress does not have coils. Latex mattresses, however can be structured to provide a feeling of softness, medium firmness or firmness. Latex mattresses specifically contain no metal. So latex mattresses are often chosen by individuals concerned about electro-magnetic fields (EMFs) and the possible health risks of current flows or magnetic interference with the body.

Natural dyes
Our hemp importer, ECOLUTION®, was inspired to develop natural dyes since they first began to work with hemp. This dream was actualized a few years ago when a Transylvanian eco-botanist with a background in natural pigments joined the ECOLUTION® team. After intensive research and development working with local plants, ECOLUTION® achieved the four colors that you see here. ECOLUTION® uses only eco-friendly mordants, blue stone, alum, salt, and vinegar, to fix these dyes. *Comments taken directly from ECOLUTION®
Recently, ECOLUTION® has been able to develop a variety of lovely new colors based upon the same principles, and all using natural plant materials. |

Split coil and split wood foundations
The split wood or split coil mattress frame is a suggested option for the queen size mattress only. This is an option for houses that have small tiht hallways which might make it otherwise difficult to successfully deliver and install a standard one-piece queen size foundation. With a split coil, or split wood order, you will receive two special order foundations that are each 30” wide x 79” long, which would lay side by side beneath your queen mattress. To order either a split coil or a split wood foundation, please call us at 800-270-2448, ext. 709 to place a special order.

Tufting and euro-tufting
Tufting is a method of securing the top and bottom of a mattress together to keep the filling of a mattress from shifting around under the weight of a sleeper. Standard or button tufting uses a button to keep the thread from pulling through the mattress. The EverGreen Home™ offers Euro-Tufted mattresses. Our Euro-Tufting process is done by hand and uses a cloth pad instead of a button to secure the tufting stitch in place, giving your mattress a surface free of hard objects. This results in greater comfort.
