Green Team Member Spotlight
Our company's Green Team includes the country's finest architects, builders and designers who work to achieve the standards set forth by the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program. Our team can assist you with energy audits, green renovations, green site plans for building new homes, eco-friendly additions to your existing home, and green interior design consultation.
The following photos highlight the work of one of our LEED AP Builders in Baltimore, Maryland. Polly, seated below in front of a straw bale wall, specializes as a general contractor and she is currently a LEED coordinator for projects in Virginia and Maryland.

Straw bale construction has almost an R-40 insulating value, and is also good for soundproofing. The bales are covered with lime plaster, which is naturally resistant to mold. The plaster is hand applied for a handsome finish. |
Green roofs reduce the "heat island" effect making your house cooler in the summer. They benefit the planet by reducing stormwater runoff. They provide habitat for birds and insects, and they are pretty!

Green can be elegant and beautiful as shown in this copper rain chain and basin, which replaces a conventional downspout to bring water from the green roof above. Birds are attracted to the basin and the effect when water runs down the chain is quite lovely.
