The Synergy of Air and Fiber gives the mattresses we sell their rejuvenating properties. These properties are easily maintained. If you pay attention to a few care guidelines, you can maintain the quality of this wonderful product. Caring for and maintaining your mattress will provide you many years of luxurious and healthful rest for your body AND your spirit.
Preparing your mattress
Natural cotton retains a scent that you may prefer to air out prior to use. To do this, simply put your mattress and box spring in direct sunlight within your home– in a clean and dry place. Nature will do the rest.
Maintaining your mattress
- Vacuum and air your natural mattress regularly to help its natural fibers to breathe
- Use a mattress pad to protect the integrity of your mattress
- Turn your mattress regularly to encourage even wear
- Every two weeks (for only the first two months) alternate turning your mattress end-to-end and flipping it. After this, you should turn your natural mattress every 4 – 6 months. Please be sure to safeguard your mattress (and yourself) against damage by having at least two people to flip the mattress. Please use the handles only to guide your mattress into place after flipping. These handles cannot support the mattress’ weight and will likely detach if you use them for lifting the mattress.
Refreshing your mattress
You may spot clean with a solution of 1:3 parts white distilled vinegar and distilled water. Spay a small amount of this solution on the spot then expose it to direct sun light until the spot in question has faded and the scent of the vinegar is gone. Please be sure the mattress is ENTIRELY dry before re-using it. If you prefer to use a non-toxic commercial spot cleaner, please be certain to follow the manufacturer’s instructions and be sure you let the mattress dry COMPLETELY before you resume using it.
